I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 after studying digital/broadcast journalism, political science and Spanish. I was named one of UGA's Amazing Students and was a recipient of the Presidential Award of Excellence, which recognizes less than 1 percent of UGA students for their achievements.



2016 New York Times Student Journalism Institute

Selected as one of 26 students to cover news in New York City under the supervision of reporters and editors from The New York Times. Awarded the Armando Montaño Scholarship.


2015 Cox-Poynter Media Leader

One of 13 students selected to learn from leaders from different industries and complete leadership lessons from Poynter’s NewsU.


Grady Newsource

Produced news about the Athens-Clarke County and UGA. Advanced the outlet's digital presence, advocating for new story formats.


Earned multiple internships and contract work

Interned with Voice of America-English TV to Africa, CNN and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Also freelanced with 11Alive, HomeTown News Inc. and

2015 McGill Fellow of Journalistic Courage

One of 12 students selected to participate in the McGill Symposium. The program honors Ralph McGill’s courage as editor of the AJC.

Worked as site migration committee member, senior reporter, news editor, associate news editor and student government beat reporter.


Conducted undergraduate research on mobile video 

Mobile eye-tracking results supported that different story formats can significantly influence mobile viewers' recall and attitudes toward news content. 


2015 ONA Student Newsroom

Selected as one of 20 students to produce content for the Online News Association's website before and during the conference in Los Angeles.


Language immersion

Studied abroad for one month in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain, through UGA en España and the Honors International Scholars Program.
